Expanding the Black Narrative

Over the past few decades, there has been minimal progress in TV and Hollywood towards embracing storytelling that portrays the Black experience in a modern context, free from tropes and stereotypes. While there have been breakthroughs and an increase in Black content, are we truly making progress relative to our significant impact on pop and world culture? In this panel Coodie and Chike will discuss the future of Black storytelling. They will explore what constitutes a Black story and examine what it will take to move beyond generalizations that perpetuate stereotypes in Black entertainment.
